Tropical Depression Fabian Nears Philippine Exit
Tropical Depression Fabian is set to leave the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) shortly, according to the latest updates from the state weather bureau. Fabian’s track and intensity forecast indicate it is moving steadily west northwestward, signaling its imminent departure from the country’s monitored zone.
As of 5 p.m. Friday, the center of Fabian was positioned approximately 245 kilometers west of Laoag City in Ilocos Norte. The tropical depression carries maximum sustained winds reaching 45 kilometers per hour near its core, with gusts up to 55 kilometers per hour. It continues its west northwestward movement at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
No Direct Threat From Tropical Depression Fabian
Importantly, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) confirmed that no tropical cyclone wind signals have been raised in connection with Fabian. Experts noted that this weather disturbance is unlikely to cause any significant impact on the country’s weather during the forecast period.
“Fabian is forecast to move generally west northwestward for the entire forecast period and exit the Philippine area of responsibility tonight,” the agency stated. Furthermore, Fabian is expected to weaken into a remnant low as it moves out of the PAR.
Fabian Marks Sixth Tropical Cyclone in 2025
This tropical depression is the sixth cyclone to develop within the Philippine boundary this year. Despite the ongoing storm activity, local authorities and weather experts emphasize that Fabian poses minimal risk to the country’s weather systems at this time.
As Fabian departs, residents and officials remain vigilant but reassured by the timely forecasts and advisories provided by meteorological services. Continuous monitoring will ensure preparedness for any changes in weather patterns.
