Tropical Depression Develops Outside Philippine Area of Responsibility
A low-pressure area (LPA) has intensified into a tropical depression beyond the Philippine area of responsibility, local weather authorities reported. This tropical depression, identified as 07J, formed Friday afternoon but is not expected to impact the Philippines.
According to weather updates, the tropical depression is currently situated approximately 1,635 kilometers east-northeast of the northernmost part of Luzon. Since it remains outside the Philippine area of responsibility, it poses no threat to the country.
Weather Bureau Confirms No Impact on Philippines
A specialist from the meteorological agency stated in Filipino, “It is not expected to enter the PAR, and it will have no impact on any part of the country.” The agency continues to monitor the system closely despite its distant location.
In a morning bulletin, the weather bureau reported that this tropical depression carries maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching up to 70 kilometers per hour. It is moving northeast at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour.
No Other Threatening Systems Detected
Aside from this tropical depression, meteorologists confirmed there are no other low-pressure areas or tropical cyclones currently threatening the Philippine region. Authorities remain vigilant as the weather situation develops.
