Tropical Depression Huaning Leaves Philippine Area of Responsibility
Tropical depression Huaning has officially exited the Philippine area of responsibility, sources reported early Tuesday morning. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) confirmed that Huaning left the region at 5 a.m.
With the departure of Huaning, officials noted that no cyclones are currently being monitored within the Philippine area of responsibility. This development brings relief as no immediate tropical cyclone threats remain inside the country’s jurisdiction.
Current Status of Tropical Depression Huaning
As of 8 a.m., Huaning was located approximately 840 kilometers northeast of extreme northern Luzon, well outside the Philippine area of responsibility. Community members said the tropical depression sustained maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching up to 70 kilometers per hour. It is moving north-northwestward at a swift pace of 45 kilometers per hour.
Monitoring of Low-Pressure Area Outside PAR
Meanwhile, meteorological sources reported that Pagasa is closely monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) situated about 1,675 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, also outside the Philippine area of responsibility. This LPA currently holds a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Authorities emphasized that neither the tropical depression nor the low-pressure area poses a direct threat to any part of the country at this time.
Weather Outlook Amid Tropical Activity
Despite the absence of cyclones within the Philippine area of responsibility, local leaders noted that easterly winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean are expected to bring a high chance of rain across most regions on Tuesday. Residents are advised to stay alert for possible rainfall and monitor updates from official weather agencies.
