Tropical Depression Isang slightly slowed down as it continued its path across Quirino province on Friday afternoon. According to local authorities, Isang carried maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) with gusts reaching up to 90 kph, while moving west-northwest at 15 kph.

Weather experts noted that Tropical Depression Isang is projected to cross northern Luzon and enter the West Philippine Sea by Friday night. It is expected to leave the country’s boundary by Saturday morning or afternoon.
“Isang is forecast to intensify into a tropical storm tomorrow morning and may reach severe tropical storm category while approaching the waters south of Hainan, China,” officials reported. However, they cautioned that intensification into a tropical storm could occur earlier, possibly just hours after Isang emerges over the West Philippine Sea.
