Live Updates on Tropical Storm Crising
Ten areas in Luzon are now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 as Tropical Storm Crising gains strength. The storm is moving west-northwest toward mainland Cagayan and the Babuyan Islands, local sources said.
According to the latest 11 a.m. bulletin, Crising’s center was located approximately 195 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The tropical storm carries maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour with gusts reaching up to 90 kph. It is advancing at a speed of 25 kph in a west-northwest direction.

Signal No. 2 warnings cover several provinces and municipalities including:
- Batanes
- Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands
- Isabela
- Apayao
- Kalinga
- Northern and central parts of Abra

- Ilocos Norte
- Northern Ilocos Sur

Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 has been raised in the following locations:
- Quirino
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Remaining areas of Mountain Province and Ifugao
- Remaining parts of Abra
- Benguet
- Rest of Ilocos Sur and La Union
- Northern Pangasinan
- Northern Aurora
- Northeastern Nueva Ecija
Storm Path and Forecast
Crising is expected to continue moving generally northwestward over the next 12 hours. Weather authorities predict it will intensify into a severe tropical storm by Saturday morning or afternoon.
“There is a possibility of landfall over mainland Cagayan or the Babuyan Islands this afternoon or evening,” officials noted. After landfall, the storm will traverse Extreme Northern Luzon, moving west-northwestward.
The tropical storm is projected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Saturday afternoon.
