Tropical Storm Crising continues moving farther from the Philippines, as the number of areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 decreases from eight to five, local weather agencies said. The storm’s west-northwest track means it is steadily moving away from Northern Luzon.
According to the latest updates, Crising was last spotted about 125 kilometers west-northwest of Calayan, Cagayan. It maintains maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour with gusts up to 115 kph, moving at 15 kph towards the west-northwest.
Tropical Storm Crising Expected to Intensify
Experts forecast that Tropical Storm Crising will continue moving generally west-northwestward toward southern China. It is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Saturday morning or early afternoon. Moreover, the storm may strengthen further and reach the Severe Tropical Storm category later today.

The following locations remain under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2, which warns of gale-force winds between 62 to 88 kph expected within 24 hours:

- Northern portion of Cagayan, including Santa Praxedes, Claveria, Sanchez-Mira, and others, as well as the Babuyan Islands
- Ilocos Norte
- Northern and central areas of Apayao, including Calanasan and Luna
- Northeastern portion of Abra, including Tineg and Lagayan
Areas Under TCWS Signal No. 1
Other regions remain under Signal No. 1, indicating strong winds of 39 to 61 kph expected within 36 hours. These include:
- Rest of Cagayan
- Northern part of Isabela, covering municipalities like Mallig, Ilagan City, and others
- Remaining parts of Apayao and Abra
- Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao
- Northern Benguet, including Bakun and Mankayan
- Ilocos Sur and northern La Union
