Two dead, 7 injured in vehicular accident on Commonwealth Ave., QC


Two people died while seven others were injured in an accident involving three vehicles on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City on Sunday morning.

The fatalities, who were passengers of a jeepney, were confirmed dead by responders from the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, according to a report by Rod Vega on Super Radyo dzBB.

The seven injured meanwhile were already brought to the hospital.

The accident involved a traditional passenger jeep plying the route Jordan Plains-Philcoa as well as one sedan and one e-jeep.

The incident occurred before 7 a.m. on the eastbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue going to Fairview, across the Commonwealth Market.

Authorities on site were investigating as of posting time to determine why the accident occurred.

Meanwhile, traffic on the eastbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue after Sandiganbayan slowed down as two lanes were occupied by the vehicles involved in the accident.

The driver of the passenger jeepney involved in the accident is in the custody of authorities. —KG, GMA Integrated News
