ORION, Bataan — Two elderly fishermen from Bataan have been reported missing after failing to return home from their fishing trip last Saturday, July 5. The incident has prompted urgent search and rescue efforts by local authorities.
The Bataan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office identified the missing men as Crispin Mendoza, 70, and Rogelio Pascual, 71. Both are residents of Barangay Lusungan in Orion town. Their families grew increasingly worried when the two did not come back as expected.
Search Operations Underway
According to initial reports, the two fishermen left on a small motorized boat bound for nearby Bulacan province. Since their departure, there has been no communication or sign of their whereabouts. Local leaders noted that the search and rescue operation was immediately launched to locate the missing men and bring them home safely.
Authorities are coordinating with nearby communities and maritime agencies to widen the search area. The incident highlights the risks fishermen face while working at sea, especially elderly individuals like Mendoza and Pascual.
