Authorities apprehended two high-value individuals during a buy-bust operation in Taguig City, sources said. The operation took place around 9:56 p.m. on Wednesday in Barangay New Lower Bicutan, targeting illegal drug activities.
The Southern Police District’s District Drug Enforcement Unit, working closely with the district intelligence division and Taguig Police Sub-Station 9, carried out the raid behind a fast-food outlet on MLQ Street, Purok 1, De Guzman Compound.
Seizure Details and Police Statement
During the operation, police seized approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱1 million. Additional items confiscated included three knot-tied plastic sachets with a white crystalline substance, a paper roll wrapped in masking tape, and a white envelope. Authorities also recovered one genuine ₱1,000 bill used as marked money, 49 counterfeit ₱1,000 bills, and an orange Toyota Vios with plate number NCI 5793.
“Ang operasyon na ito ay malinaw na mensahe sa mga drug personalities na walang ligtas na lugar para sa kanilang ilegal na gawain sa southern metro,” said the acting district director of the Southern Police District, PBGen. Randy Arceo.
Legal Action and Next Steps
The seized substances will undergo forensic laboratory examination by the SPD Forensic Unit. Meanwhile, the suspects face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Complaints will be filed with the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
This operation underscores the relentless efforts of local law enforcement to dismantle drug networks and ensure public safety in southern Metro Manila.
