Two Men Nabbed for Stealing Laptop and Phone in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines — Authorities apprehended two men for allegedly stealing a laptop and a smartphone from a woman in Quezon City, according to local police reports. The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) confirmed the capture of the suspects in separate operations conducted within Quezon City on Wednesday.
The suspects, identified only as Angelo, 22, and Ron Ron, 23, were linked to the early Monday morning robbery in Barangay Sangandaan. Local officials said the incident unfolded when the victim was preparing to sleep.
Victim’s Account of the Incident
“According to the victim, she was preparing to sleep when the suspects unlawfully entered her room and stole a Lenovo laptop worth P40,000 and a Nothing Phone 1 valued at P24,000,” police sources said. Fearful for her safety, the woman pretended to be asleep, then promptly reported the crime to barangay officials and the police afterward.
Evidence and Charges
During the arrests, officers recovered a makeshift firearm, commonly called a “sumpak,” loaded with a 9mm bullet from one of the suspects. The suspects are currently detained at the Quezon City Police District.
They face charges of robbery and violations of Republic Act 10591, the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, local law enforcement noted. These charges underscore the seriousness of the crime and the authorities’ commitment to public safety.
This case highlights ongoing efforts by the NCRPO to clamp down on theft and violent crime in Metro Manila neighborhoods.
