Two Soldiers Injured and Robbed in Road Mishap

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two soldiers were seriously injured and robbed in a shocking road mishap on Thursday, June 5. The incident involved Army Corporal Juner Vally, who was driving, and Staff Sgt. Tiyamuat Alrasid as they traveled along the highway in Barangay Calarian. The two soldiers sustained multiple injuries after their vehicle crashed and later became targets of robbery.

Vehicle Crashes Into Fence After Hitting Electric Posts

While cruising on the highway, the vehicle suddenly rammed into an electric post, causing three more posts to topple. The impact forced the vehicle to collide with the concrete fence of a private cemetery nearby. Both soldiers were injured in the accident and were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Robbery of Firearms During Unconsciousness

Sources said that while Corporal Vally and Staff Sgt. Alrasid were unconscious after the crash, an unidentified man took advantage of the situation and robbed them of their firearms. The vehicle, badly damaged from the collision, was towed to the local police station for further investigation.

Authorities are currently probing the incident, including the possibility that Corporal Vally was under the influence of alcohol during the mishap. Police continue to gather information and examine all angles to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the event.
