Typhoon Isang Leaves Philippine Monitoring Zone
Typhoon Isang, internationally known as Kajiki, has exited the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) monitoring domain, officials reported Sunday evening. As of 8 p.m., the typhoon moved beyond the agency’s area of responsibility, signaling a shift in local weather concerns.
Despite Isang’s exit, the four-word keyphrase tropical cyclone formation outlook remains critical as weather watchers focus on other developing systems within the Philippine region.
Changing Outlook for Low Pressure Area
Pagasa’s 10 p.m. tropical cyclone formation outlook indicated a decrease in the development potential of the low pressure area (LPA) currently within the Philippine area of responsibility. The chance for this LPA to intensify into a tropical depression dropped from “high” to “medium,” according to meteorological sources.
Located approximately 405 kilometers east of Surigao City in Surigao del Norte as of 8 p.m., the LPA continues to warrant close monitoring for possible impacts on nearby regions.
Forecast: Rain Expected Across Several Regions
Weather specialists noted that the LPA is likely to bring increased rainfall as it approaches the Philippine landmass. Veronica Torres, a weather expert, indicated in the 5 p.m. forecast that multiple areas will experience wet conditions on Monday.
“Rainy weather is also expected in Bicol Region, Calabarzon [Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon], Mimaropa [Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan]. For the rest of Luzon, expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of localized thunderstorms,” Torres explained.
Officials further highlighted that Metro Manila is likely to see rain showers on Monday. Additionally, the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga regions will remain rainy, community members said.
Preparedness Amid Shifting Weather Patterns
With Typhoon Isang now outside the monitoring domain, attention turns to the evolving low pressure area and its potential to affect weather conditions nationwide. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest tropical cyclone formation outlook and prepare for possible rain and thunderstorms.
Local authorities continue to monitor developments closely to provide timely warnings and guidance to communities at risk.
