Vice President Sara Duterte Denies Awards Ceremony Link
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) firmly denied any connection to certain promotional materials circulating for an awards ceremony in Parañaque City. Vice President Sara Duterte has no involvement in the event, the OVP clarified Thursday.
An organization named Viral International Publishing used the photo of Vice President Sara Duterte in promotional materials for a dinner and awards ceremony held at Okada Manila, Parañaque. The event charged a ticket fee of P4,990.
“We inform the public that the OVP has not received any communication that would warrant the participation of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte in the event hosted by the above-mentioned Organization,” the OVP said in a public notice.
Clarifying False Claims
The OVP emphasized that any publication suggesting Vice President Sara Duterte is among the awardees or will attend the event is false. The office urged the public to remain cautious and verify announcements before taking them at face value.
Currently, Vice President Duterte is in The Hague, Netherlands, visiting her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte. He is detained by the International Criminal Court on allegations of crimes against humanity, sources said.
The OVP’s statement serves as a reminder to always confirm event details directly from official sources to avoid misinformation.
