Vice President Sara Duterte is set to embark on an official trip to Qatar and the Netherlands from May 26 to June 4, according to sources close to her office. This visit will include several engagements with the Filipino community abroad, highlighting her commitment to connecting with overseas Filipinos.
During her stay in Doha, Qatar, the Vice President will participate in a series of activities designed to foster unity among Filipinos living there. These events include a Thanksgiving mass as well as visits to a local health center and a salon, where she will personally meet Filipino workers. In addition, Duterte will share meals with various Filipino community leaders and supporters, including brunch at a food court, afternoon snacks, and dinner gatherings.
Activities in the Netherlands and Family Meetings
Following her visit to Qatar, Duterte will travel to the Netherlands. One of the highlights of her trip includes meeting her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, in The Hague on May 30 and again from June 2 to 3. On May 31, she is scheduled to attend a gathering organized by several Filipino community groups outside the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
This will be Vice President Duterte’s second visit to The Hague since her father’s arrest on March 11. Previously, she stayed there for nearly a month, from March 12 until early April, showing her continued involvement in matters concerning her family and the Filipino community abroad.
Returning Home and Ongoing Commitments
The Vice President is expected to return to the Philippines on June 4. Her upcoming trip underlines her dedication to engaging with overseas Filipinos and addressing their concerns firsthand.
