We don’t have a relationship: Ahtisa Manalo’s honest revelation
Miss Universe Philippines 2025, Ahtisa Manalo, openly shared the truth about her connection with her biological father. She revealed that despite carrying her father’s name, their relationship remains distant and distant.
In an intimate interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Ahtisa explained that her father is Finnish-Swedish, but they never really became close. Her mother added the suffix “-sa” to her dad’s name, Ahti, to make it feminine, which is how Ahtisa got her name.
“My father’s name, my biological father who’s Finnish, his name is Ahti. And my mom added an ‘sa’ for it to be more feminine,” she said.
Raised by a single mother and grandmother
Ahtisa grew up under the care of her single mother and grandmother, who raised her with love and support. She said there was no anger towards her father, only indifference due to the absence of a real relationship.
“I think there was no anger on my end. But it was more of an indifference. Because we don’t have a relationship,” she shared.
When asked about her feelings towards her dad, Ahtisa admitted, “It’s hard to be angry at someone when you don’t know them.”
Efforts to connect despite the distance
Although distant, Ahtisa revealed that her father did make attempts to reach out online several times. Still, the connection felt far and unfamiliar.
“He reached out to me online for a few times. But even then, it feels like a distant person,” she said.
She added, “You don’t even know what you guys are up to, hindi niyo alam kung ano nangyayari sa buhay. So, it’s not really a relationship as I would call it. It is what it is.”
