Television host Willie Revillame surprised many when he announced his bid for a Senate seat—without a traditional platform. Instead, he banks on his 27 years of hands-on experience helping the poor.
“Simple lang ang gusto natin. Wala akong plataporma,” Willie said during a Facebook live while leading a motorcade in San Jose, Nueva Ecija.
He urged voters to choose candidates with proven dedication, not empty promises.
Willie also vowed that if elected, he would tackle two major challenges head-on: the national budget and the deep divisions among leaders. As his motorcade rolled through town, Willie handed out white shirts to residents along the roadside, saving his blue jackets for the elderly, persons with disabilities, and mothers—items that could double as blankets at night.
His campaign next heads to Laguna.
Meanwhile, Partido Demokratiko Sosyalista ng Pilipinas (PDSP) marked its 52nd anniversary with a call to action. Senatorial candidate Norberto Gonzales lamented the worsening poverty gripping many Filipinos.
He urged his fellow PDSP members to keep fighting.
Retired Colonel Ariel Querubin spotlighted education, pressing for scholarships for eldest children in every family. He pointed to the steep drop in literacy and rising dropout rates.
He shared a poignant reason behind his push.
At Malacañang, Partido Maharlika’s Michael Tapado joined President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and others in honoring Labor Day.
