Woman Uncovers Husband’s Illegal Drug Business in Manticao
In Manticao, Misamis Oriental, a 40-year-old woman unexpectedly uncovered her estranged husband’s illegal drug activities after a heated argument. Amor Apatan and her husband, Salvador, clashed Friday evening in Barangay Mahayahay when he came from a nearby village to talk to her.
During their confrontation along the roadside, Amor’s father, Diosdado Mangubat, a local councilman, intervened. He punched Salvador, who fled immediately. In the chaos, Amor managed to grab Salvador’s pouch and mobile phone.
Discovery of Suspected Methamphetamine
Later that night, Amor opened the black pouch at home and found sachets with a white crystalline substance inside. “We only found out that this pouch contained this white substance in a plastic when we opened it at home,” Amor shared in an interview.
Suspecting the contents to be methamphetamine, she sought help from barangay officials to notify the police and surrender the items.
