Woman’s Body Found Inside Garbage Bag in Quezon City Sparks Investigation
A woman’s body was discovered inside a garbage bag along a street in Payatas, Quezon City early Tuesday morning, prompting authorities to investigate the case as a possible foul play. The discovery happened around 8 a.m. when garbage collectors noticed a bag that felt unusually heavy while working along San Lorenzo Street in Barangay Payatas.
Garbage Collectors’ Shocking Discovery Raises Suspicions
This translates to him dragging the bag from the end because it was heavy, tearing the sack open, and then opening the intact black plastic bag only to see a hand, which caused everyone to run away in shock.
The collectors added that no blood was visible inside the bag, which led them to suspect the woman might have been strangled. One witness said, “Wala naman dugo sir. Parang ano sir, sinakal siguro ‘yon. Matigas na… siguro isang araw pa siguro ‘yan.” They noted the body was stiff, suggesting it had been there for about a day.
Details About the Victim and Ongoing Police Investigation
Authorities have yet to identify the woman or determine the exact cause of death. Initial observations describe the victim as a woman between 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5’1” tall, slim, with fair skin, and wearing a ring. An unusual detail noted by police was that she was dressed in multiple layers of clothing.
According to a police spokesperson, “Meron siyang 4 to 5 layers ng damit, kasama na ‘yung jacket.” This means she had four to five layers of clothing, including a jacket.
The police continue to investigate the case thoroughly. “Patuloy ang pag-iimbestiga. Kasi kung natural death, sa isang area siya makikita. But since nandun siya sa garbage na isinilid, tinitingnan natin ang mga anggulo kung mayroon bang involved sa pagkamatay ng babaeng ito,” the spokesperson added. This translates to the investigation continuing because if it were a natural death, the body would have been found in a different place. Since the woman was found inside garbage, authorities are examining all angles to determine if foul play was involved.
Police Review CCTV and Search for Clues
Police are now checking nearby CCTV footage to see if anyone was caught leaving the victim’s body. Meanwhile, the investigation remains active as authorities work to identify the woman and establish the cause of death. The presence of multiple clothing layers and the manner in which the body was hidden intensify suspicions of a possible crime. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
