Yellow Rainfall Warning Issued Over Bataan and Zambales

MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau has raised a yellow rainfall warning over Bataan and Zambales early Sunday morning. The warning alerts residents and local authorities to prepare for moderate rainfall in these areas.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), as of 8 a.m., Bataan and Zambales are expected to receive between 7.5 and 15 millimeters of rain within the next three hours. These conditions indicate a need for vigilance as the weather may affect daily activities and transportation.

Similar Weather in Nearby Provinces

Yellow rainfall warning also applies as similar weather patterns are observed in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and Tarlac. These provinces are forecasted to experience the same rainfall amounts and conditions for the following three hours, increasing the risk of localized flooding and disruptions.

Meanwhile, Pampanga is experiencing light to moderate rains, occasionally interrupted by heavy downpours. These rains are expected to continue for up to three hours, potentially impacting outdoor events and travel plans.

Additional Warnings Across Southern Luzon and Metro Manila

In a separate advisory, Pagasa warned residents of Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and Quezon to brace for moderate to heavy rain showers, accompanied by thunderstorms, over the next two hours. The weather bureau urges locals in these provinces to stay alert and follow safety protocols.

Similarly, rain continues to affect Metro Manila, particularly in Quezon City, Valenzuela, Malabon, San Juan, and Caloocan. These areas are experiencing persistent downpours that may cause waterlogging and traffic delays.

Cause of Persistent Rainfall Nationwide

Sources said the ongoing rains across much of the Philippines result from the combined effects of the southwest monsoon and the trough or extension of Severe Tropical Storm Bising (international name: Danas). This weather system brings widespread rainfall that could last for several days.

Local officials emphasize the importance of monitoring weather updates closely and preparing for possible flooding or landslides, especially in vulnerable communities.
