Vinny Marcos Takes Lead in Bagong Pilipinas Youth Movement
William Vincent “Vinny” Marcos, the youngest son of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., has been appointed as the chair of the Bagong Pilipinas Youth. This nationwide movement is designed to empower young Filipinos to become proactive agents of change in their communities and across the country.

The event drew student leaders, Sangguniang Kabataan officers, youth advocates, and supporters of the Bagong Pilipinas Citizens Movement. However, officials from the National Youth Commission (NYC), the government’s primary policy-making body on youth affairs, were notably absent.
The group affirmed that the launch aligned with President Marcos’s broader vision of championing the Filipino youth’s role in nation-building. Vinny’s appointment as head of a government-sanctioned youth movement evokes parallels with his grandfather’s actions in the 1970s. Then-President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. issued Presidential Decree No. 1191 in 1977, establishing the Kabataang Baranggay (KB), a precursor to the Sangguniang Kabataan. Marcos Sr. appointed his eldest daughter, Imee Marcos, as chair of the KB Foundation, which managed government funds.
Vinny is the youngest among three sons of President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos. His eldest brother, Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos III, 31, currently serves as the representative of Ilocos Norte’s first district and is the House majority leader. In 2023, he interned for his uncle, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, undergoing training similar to that of his eldest brother Sandro. In 2022, Vinny participated in the 16-day Executive Motorcycle Riding Course (EMCRC) conducted by the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group. This exclusive program is open to high-ranking law enforcement personnel, government officials, and prominent civilian leaders and executives, indicating Vinny’s exposure to leadership and discipline training beyond traditional political paths.
