Zaijian Jaranilla Opens Up on Love and Self-Care
Actor Zaijian Jaranilla recently offered heartfelt guidance about love during the premiere of the series “Si Sol at si Luna.” He emphasized the importance of self-love, stating, “Mahalin mo muna ang sarili mo bago mo ibigay ang sarili mo sa iba. (Love yourself first before you give yourself to others).” This advice, shared in a candid moment at a screening event in Araneta City, highlights a key message: loving oneself is essential before engaging in meaningful relationships.
(It’s very selfish if you love others but don’t love yourself. That’s the key to a relationship that works).” At 23 years old, he feels confident sharing his perspective, having experienced a real relationship himself. “Twenty-three na ako at nagkaroon na rin ako ng girlfriend. So naka-experience na talaga ako ng pag-ibig. (I’m 23 and I already have a girlfriend. So I’ve really experienced love).”
Exploring Intimacy and Preparing for Challenging Scenes
The young actor also addressed questions about dating older women, clarifying, “Wala pa akong experience with the older woman. Doon lang talaga ako sa age bracket ko. (I don’t have any experience with the older woman yet. I’m just in my age bracket). Mahirap magsabi kung mag nagparamdam sa akin na older woman lalo na andun ka na sa situation.”
Fans were particularly intrigued by the intimate scenes between Zaijian and co-star Jane Oineza, which gained attention after the series trailer dropped. Zaijian described the experience as a leap of faith: “Para lang ako tumalon sa eroplano na wala ng atrasan. Sa isip ko, matatapos din naman ito. Ginawa ko lang yung makakaya ko. (It was like jumping off a plane with no way back. I thought, this will end. I just did what I could).”
These scenes were notably filmed in a single take but captured from multiple angles, underscoring the actors’ commitment to authenticity.
Zaijian’s Connection with His Character Sol
Playing the role of Sol, a man searching for genuine love, Zaijian found it easy to relate to his character. “Hindi ko na masyadong inilayo ang sarili ko sa character ni ‘Sol.’ Naipasok ko agad yung personality ko sa kanya kaya hindi na ako nahirapan. Parang ako lang yung character ni ‘Sol’ sa series. (I didn’t distance myself too much from the character of ‘Sol.’ I immediately incorporated my personality into him, so I didn’t have any difficulty. It’s like I’m ‘Sol’ in real life).”
Director and Producer Address Intimate Scenes
The inclusion of intimate moments in the series sparked curiosity, prompting a response from the director-producer. “We’re Puregold Channel. We’re particular sa mga love scenes. Kung hindi siya ganun ka-essential sa narrative, definitely it will not see the light. Pero kailangan siya kaya andun siya. At maintindihan natin kung bakit kailangan ang mga eksena na ito sa kwento kapag napanood na natin ito,” he explained. (“If it wasn’t essential to the narrative, it definitely wouldn’t see the light. But it’s needed, so it’s there. We’ll understand why these scenes are necessary in the story once we watch it.”)
