Governor Orders Performance Review of Past Administrations
PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — Zamboanga del Norte Governor Darel Dexter Uy has directed a thorough performance review of previous administrations’ programs and projects. This move aims to assess how provincial government resources were spent and managed.
Uy signed an executive order establishing the Provincial Committee on Good Governance (PCGG), a temporary group tasked with evaluating the current condition of the provincial government. The PCGG will lead the performance review, focusing on the accomplishments, efficiency, and integrity of earlier initiatives. Uy’s goal is to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance within the provincial capitol.
Committee to Examine Financial and Operational Records
The PCGG will scrutinize financial transactions, major program outputs, asset management, and personnel practices. Based on its findings, the committee will recommend strategies to strengthen anti-corruption measures and improve government operations. All provincial departments and offices have been ordered to fully cooperate with the ongoing review.
The review is set to conclude within 60 days, though it remains unclear how far back the committee will investigate.
Context of Leadership in Zamboanga del Norte
Governor Uy assumed office following a decisive win in the May 12 national and local elections. Before his tenure, Rosalina Jalosjos served as governor from 2022 to 2025, succeeding her father Roberto Sr., who led from 2013 to 2022. Since 1986, three others—Isagani Amatong, Roldan Dalman, and Rolando Yebes—have held the position.
Local leaders note that this review reflects a fresh commitment to improve governance standards and restore public trust.
