Zamboanga del Sur Rewards Tipsters for Crime Information
In Zamboanga del Sur, local authorities are urging witnesses to come forward and cooperate with the police to help solve crimes. The provincial government and police leadership are offering cash rewards to encourage people to share valuable information.
Col. Bonifacio Arañas Jr., head of the provincial police, expressed gratitude to the local government for supporting their efforts to solve the murders of two barangay officials. This support came through the pledge of cash rewards for tipsters.
Two Informants Receive P1 Million Reward
On a recent Thursday, two informants who chose to keep their identities hidden were each given P500,000 by the Zamboanga del Sur provincial government. Their tips led police directly to three wanted suspects linked to the killings.
Governor Divina Grace Yu personally handed over the cash rewards at the Provincial Governor’s Office, showing the government’s commitment to justice and community cooperation.
Police Arrest Three Suspects Following Tips
Col. Arañas explained that the tipsters’ information was crucial in arresting three men wanted in connection with multiple shootings in the province. The suspects are Jonathan Bugwak Abayon, Wilfredo Doliente Pamisa, and Jovito Lozano Renposa.
Abayon, 35, from Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City, was arrested in Iligan City. He faces charges that include two counts of murder, attempted murder, and illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
Pamisa, 43, from Barangay Binayan in Labangan town, was apprehended in Pagadian City. He has warrants for murder and illegal firearm possession.
Renposa, 39, from Guipos town, was also arrested in Pagadian City with charges of two counts of murder.
Details of the Crimes and Suspects
These suspects are linked to the killings of several barangay officials: Raymundo Albiar, the village chief of Barangay Tuburan, murdered in August 2021; Romie Naong, killed inside the Provincial Government Center in October 2022; and Francisco Maca Jr., a barangay councilor from Kumalarang, killed in February 2025.
Local leaders emphasized that this reward program aims to boost public participation in crime prevention and encourage more people to provide information that can help solve cases.
